I am a 36 yr old Mom of a 12 yr old who just loves Billy! He watched the show on Discovery and downloaded any video he could find! He does a great impression of Billy! Our whole family was saddened by this very unexpected news! Our thoughts are with the family and friends.

When my husband told me that Billy Mays had just passed away I was completely in shock! I absolutely could not believe what he had told me! I really loved to watch his commercials … the way he “pitched” a product was completely his own. It can never be replicated. His commanding presence and booming voice will be forever missed, as will seeing him with his trademark blue shirt. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Pitchmen. My husband and I really got into it. I loved the commraderie between Billy and Sully, even when they would argue. We knew that it was very much like a “brother” relationship. When I saw the episode where he had done a commercial with his family I knew that he was a real family man. I especially feel sorry for his little 3-year old daughter. Knowing Billy, he is probably up in heaven trying to pitch some new invention to God. And knowing Billy, it will probably be a hit! I hope that the Mays’ family can find comfort in knowing how fond of Billy the American public really was. May God bless you and give you the strength you will need in the times ahead.

Last Friday June 29 My Husband My Son Tim and I were talking about how my 5 year old grandson Timmy would always stop whatever he was doing since he was about 9 mos. old and run to the TV whenever he heard Billy Mays voice. We asked him what he wanted to be when he gets older and he would say Billy Mays. If he turns out to be even half the man that Billy was then we couldn’t ask for anything more. God Bless You Billy you will be missed by many. To Billy’s Family Stay Strong and carry on and don’t think your far apart because everytime you think of Billy he will be right there in your heart.

Billy Mays was the best pitchman ever! Not only was he a great talent but a truly passionate man about his products and life. My son and I tried to imitate Billy because he was so much fun. Every time one of his commercials came on we would scream BILLY MAYS! and run to see the commercial. God bless his family especially his son. My family misses Billy so much.

I was shocked when my brother called me with the news yesterday. I always enjoyed his commercials and have tried many of his products and loved them. He was a good business man and the perfect example of how hard work and determination pays off in this great country. I recently became reaquainted with him through a local radio show that maintained a great relationship with him. He was a wonderful man and will be missed greatly! Thanks MJ Morning crew and 93.3flz for bringing him closer to the Tampa bay area!!!

    beard and smile.

  14. Steve says:

Billy was the American dream, his passion in what he did always showed by the big smile he shared with us all. No matter what he was selling I never could turn the channel till he was done. Billy was a Icon in his own right and seemed to be a truly great guy. I never knew him personally but I feel I lost a friend and my heart goes out to his family. I know he will be deeply missed by them and millions of his fans all over the world.

Billy was a real nice man , I just spoke with him a week and a half ago when he came to our company, he did our commercials.
He joked around and signed a photo for me. I saw the other side of Billy when he came to visit. And no, he wasn’t yelling.

I am truly sadden by this news. Billy was the top pitchmen in the game “sorry Sully” but he also loved his family as much as his work so may the good lord add the best and loudest angel to the crew and let him pitch the gospel as he pitched his products on the earth.
“Let Heaven and Angels sing, Let Heaven and Angels sing, Let Heeeaaven and Angels Sing!”
God take you Billy Mays and God keep your beautiful family strong and steady through these coming confusing days that lay ahead of them.

    Sad-fully Submitted

My condolences to the family of Billy Mays. I know that the 1 thing that stands out to me about Billy was his smile. He a face that told you he was trustworthy. Pitchmen gave us a look at the day to day activities of this icon in his element. I for 1 watched the show because Billy’s character was infectious. Billy made us open our hearts & more importantly our wallets. R.I.P. Billy Mays.

I am very saddened to hear this. My thoughts and prayers go to his family and friends.
As a salesman, pitch man, and marketer myself, one appreciates what it takes to become a household name as Billy did. I’m glad that the TV show with him and Sully gave us an insight into his character and allowed to know him as more than just “that loud guy on those TV commercials”.
He truly is an American icon. Goodbye billy, you will be missed.

What an incredible week for our celebrity talents. This is just as bad a shock as Michael Jackson dying. Farrah we know was sick, and it’s a horrible loss also, but Michael and Billy were such a surprise to everyone. We will miss his wonderful commercials. I hope we don’t have any more tragedies any time soon.Billy will be sadly missed.
